On February 16 and 17, Erin Freeman led the Richmond Symphony and Richmond Symphony Chorus in the highest selling Masterworks performance of the orchestra’s 56 year history.  On the program was Mozart’s Requiem, featuring soloists hand selected from the Peabody Institute of Music (Melissa Wimbish, Soprano; Janna Critz, Mezzo-Soprano; Peter Drackley, Tenor; and Jeffrey Gates, Baritone), and John B Hedges’s Prayers of Rain and Wind, featuring Assistant Principal Bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Joseph Conyers.  With a grant from New Music Alive, composer Hedges was also on hand for a week of activities, including visits to schools, youth orchestras, sponsoring organizations, and St. Pauls Baptist Church.  To read excerpts from the reviews, visit the press page.
